Ears To Hear

Last night Jonathan and I got a chance to see one of our favorite bands "NEEDTOBREATHE" in concert here in Memphis at Minglewood Hall.  Of course we love going to shows, but this one was even more special because it was the first one we knew the girls would be enjoying with us!  I've been to a few of Jonathan's shows since being pregnant, but in the last few weeks their little ears have developed the ability to hear.  What a sweet thing!

We knew that they were hearing because whenever Jonathan talks to them (whether in person or via speakerphone held up to my belly) they always start kicking and rolling around.m  They also usually react when I'm singing or when the music starts at church. The doctor also told us that they would enjoy the show because of the new experience of the bass vibrations.  I was really excited to see what they would do.

They did not disappoint!  Just as soon as the music got above a certain level, the dance party began!  At first it was adorable and Jonathan and I both just giggled at feeling them practice their kicks and punches.  Then they turned those little limbs against me and started attaching my internal organs!  I don't know which one it was or what they were kicking but it was...lets just say...less than comfortable.  Just in time, Jonathan asked if I'd like to sit down, so I did and that helped a little.  Little boogers!

The funny thing was, when I would sway with the music they would slow down a little bit.  I think it might have been lulling them back to a more restful state.  Pretty amazing!  Of course never having felt any of this before...I'm really kind of guessing at what all of these sensations are and what their causes are.  Either way, and despite the pain, it was such a joy to feel them experience the music.
