5-9 unedited

Penelope - 2888 g (6 lbs 5 oz)  Lydia- 11 lbs 4 oz

Wow, what a great day yesterday was.  Lydia gave me a poop and allowed me to take a shower...sweet Mothers Day gifts.  Then Lydia and I got to go to church together for the first time.  I knew when I heard the intro to "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" that I was a goner.  For anyone who saw me roll my eyes it was not out of disgust but out of resignation to the blubbering.  What a sweet moment to hold the embodiment of God's faithfulness while singing (in my heart) about it and dropping tears on my baby.  We then had a lovely lunch at home with Jonathan's parents and took a little nap.  Then we got all dressed up and went to go pick Jonathan up from the airport (2 hours earlier than expected!) and had a wonderful time with our whole little family together at Lebonheur.  I can't even begin to describe how happy we were with our two girls together.  There was a large floor mat there that they use with Penny for her physical therapy so we put both girls in it (and i got in too) so that they could play together.  Lydia immediately started smiling and cooing, Penny's sats went up and they both were happily kicking and moving their arms around.  I think Penny even cooed a little.  Sweet sweet sweet.  Of course we took lots of pictures and videos!

Medically things are going pretty well.  Penelope has her upper GI scan today which will be determining whether she needs the reflux repair or not.  She's been doing so well on her feedings that she will most likely not need a g-tube but if she gets the reflux repair then I think that she has to get the g-tube.  From there they will schedule her surgery depending on what she will need.  Most likely it will be next week.  The upper GI is at 2 today and I'm not sure how quickly we get those results back but I'll update when we know more so that you can pray specifically!  As I mentioned before she's doing wonderfully on her feedings and is gaining at least a little bit every day.

Lydia's doing well, sleeping a bit more, and growing like a weed.  We're pretty well settled in with her, just in time for Penny to come home and start the settling process all over again! Can't wait!

Oh, for those of you who only get the update via email, this week is Nurse Appreciation week and I felt it was the perfect time to try to express some of the gratitude that we have for these wonderful people and the things that they do.  Here's a link to the post about that if you happen to be interested.

Specific Prayer
  • Decisive results from Penny's upper GI
  • Discernment for the the plans for g-tube or not
  • Continued good health for our sweet Penny
  • Continued good health for our sweet Lydia
  • Continued sweet time with our family together
  • Continued prayer for our friend Lynnlee who's is doing better and better everyday!
